The Center for a Shared Society at Givat Haviva aims to build an inclusive, socially cohesive society in Israel by engaging divided communities in collective action towards the advancement of a sustainable, thriving Israeli democracy based on mutual responsibility, civic equality and a shared vision of the future. Givat Haviva is a non-profit organization founded in 1949 by the Kibbutz Federation.

 

Educating for Excellence (E4E) is a leading educational organization providing opportunities for excellence among children and youth from lower socio-economic peripheral communities throughout Israel. E4E operates 38 Educational Excellence Centers nationwide, catering to more than 2,000 elementary to high school students. E4E’s excellence program is based on a proven holistic approach that places undeserved children on an excelling path on all levels - academically, socially and personally. E4E’s intensive, top-notch program accompanies each child for over 10 years, 4 days a week and during vacations, starting in 3rd grade onward.

 

Media Education Program and Schedule

Tuesday, March 1 
hadera– mediatech & media Educational Youth Programs
Location: Givat Haviva , 1 pm to 5:30 pm

Session for the leaders of Givat Haviva Organization
Programs led by Toby Chaudhuri, Mark Mellman and Carlos Roig Sessions will focus on media, digital communication, and data analysis and in strengthening the capacity of the participants through the acquisition of new skills to build innovative strategies and communication methodologies, digital campaigns, data analysis, and technology solutions and to confront and address key issue. 

Youth Empowerment Program
Under the guidance of Carlos Roig, participant will learn how to build an innovative and effective digital campaign.

Number of Participants: 15 - 20 individuals for each program
Participant Demographic: Academics, students, young professionals, community and Givat Haviva leaders, educators, and mentors
Educational Programs Format: MediaTech interactive programs, Media Literacy workshops and training sessions

LOD - Media Educational Programs
E4e, Lod - 4pm to 6pm @ Maxime Levy School, LoD

Youth Empowerment Programs
Toby Chaudhuri will participate in an interactive programs with students and the theme introduced last year of doing good in the digital era will be expanded. Under his guidance specific workshops and interactive programs will be organized with this Generation Z youth in which they also will be inspired to develop their own perspective and to be empowered to take action on social issues of interest to them. Short films and videos with cell phone will be used to develop critical thinking, strengthen cross- cultural skills, challenge values, encourage media literacy, allow their new voices to be heard, create bonds, provide positive role models, and promote advocacy and responsible social action.
In addition It will expose diverse and disadvantaged communities to this experience. Tools will include the creation of trailers, storytelling crafting, and digital media literacy. It is to be hoped that this experience will inspire some of the participants to choose a profession that will utilize their newly learned skills.

Number of Participants: 25 individuals
Participant Demographic: Israeli Officials, Academics, students, young professionals, community and E 4 E leaders, educators, and mentors
Educational Programs Format: MediaTech interactive programs, Media literacy workshops and Training sessions
